Benjamin Clemens graduated with a BA in ceramics from the University of Colorado in 2016 and earned his MFA at the University of Kansas in 2023. Benjamin's work is to complicate traditional figuration with energetic abstraction; operating through the material and historical contexts of ceramic sculpture. Benjamin has been exhibited internationaly, and was artist in residence at both the Guldagergaard International Ceramic Research Center in Skaelskør, Denmark and at La Galerilla in Garzón, Uruguay. Currently, Benjamin lives in Lawrence, Kansas and is a lecturer at the University of Kansas.
